Delaney is an independent publisher and small press actively seeking direct manuscript submissions from authors who align with our mission of delivering bold works that challenge the status quo. 

What We Are Seeking

Non-Fiction & Fiction

We’re particularly interested in fresh, unique non-fiction for professionals and leaders, as well as novella formats for literary fiction and other innovative approaches.

We primarily seek independent authors with an established platform and a voice, but who need expertise as a small press publisher to help clarify, polish, publish, and amplify their work.

  • Platform details: Specifics about your social reach and current audience size. 

  • Engagement experience: Any recent public speaking, media appearances, or professional engagement experiences.

  • Direction submissions only: At this time, we are not accepting submissions from authors exclusively represented by a literary agent. We highly encourage direct submission from unrepresented authors who align with our mission, vision, and values. 

  • Volume disclaimer: Due to the volume of interest we receive as an independent publisher, we cannot guarantee a reply to every submission.

  • Yes, we are an independent publisher that currently accepts direct, unsolicited manuscript submissions from unrepresented authors who align with our mission. We are actively seeking high-impact, bold nonfiction and literary works. 

  • We specialize in unique nonfiction (especially for professionals/leaders) and literary fiction/novellas. We do not publish genre fiction (e.g., romance, sci-fi) at this time.

  • At this time, DELANEY focuses on working directly with unrepresented authors. Therefore, we are not currently accepting submissions that come exclusively through a literary agent. 

  • For nonfiction submissions, the most important element is originality. After that, an author's established platform is key for consideration. Please provide detailed information about your idea, as well as your social reach, audience size, and public speaking experience along with your manuscript query. 

  • Due to the high volume of interest in submitting to our small press, we cannot guarantee a reply to every submission. We prioritize reviewing projects that are complete, well-edited, and clearly match our specific publishing needs.
